Welcome! So glad that you found Southern Sparkplug. So you’re probably asking what does or is a southern sparkplug? Years ago a friend described my attitude and personality as a sparkplug and it just stuck. Urban dictionary describes a sparkplug as a person who has spunk and a feisty attitude, just add a some southern flare and there you go.

I love to travel and explore. Going to new places and on adventures are how my best days are spent. Starting my first visit to a new city as a tourist, to finding the hidden gems in a city to finally being mistaken as a local is how I love to travel.

You’ll also find me at country concerts and live music venues. True to my southern roots, country music is my heart and soul. Listening to live music and hearing new artists and supporting up and coming artists is enjoyable to me! Being a true Florida girl, I love being in the sun and exploring. If the seas are flat, you can find me fishing in the beautiful Gulf of Mexico, and soon you’ll find me in a kayak fishing in our bays and inshore waterways.

Find me exploring southern cities, road tripping to a concert or even trying my hand at a little modern quilting. Yes, modern quilting – some old fashioned skills with a modern day touch.

I normally always have my camera and I’m always on the go. There’s not a whole lot of down time in my life and that’s exactly the way I like it. So keep up if you can, stop me and say hello and let’s grab some food, a drink or catch a live show!

Spent two days in Roma (Rome). Absolutely stunned visiting the Colosseum and seeing the architecture and massive structure. Did you know it was designed to hold 50,000 to 80,000 spectators and could be emptied within 10 minutes? They figured this out in 70-80 AD. ...
